For many types of brick and mortar businesses, listings on popular online map services can be critical for obtaining new business. Potential customers regularly use services like Google Maps and iOS Maps to find businesses near them. So it is important for brick and mortar businesses not only to have a listing, but to keep the listing updated with the correct holiday hours of operation, contact information, and the like.

Thanks to iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3, keeping an iOS Maps business listing up to date just got a lot easier.

In 2014, there were 682 million iOS devices in use. Since iOS users are seven times more active than Android users, this is a very large and thriving user base to tap into.

Thankfully, claiming a business via iOS maps and Apple Maps is easy. Simply pull up the listing, click/tap on the “Report a Problem” and then claim the listing. Upon verifying the listing is indeed yours, you’ll be able keep the listing up to date.
